The bill (Reg. No. 2498) aims at bringing legislative acts in line with changes in the safe environment and fixing functions and tasks of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the legislative level.
Considering that the Verkhovna Rada is the only body of legislative power in Ukraine, one of the authorities of which is to adopt laws (article 75, clause 3 of the first part of article 85 of the Constitution of Ukraine), people’s deputies deem amendments to the current law correspond to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
