The Committee scrutinized the bill
on amendments to the Law "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine" (Reg. No. 7280) that harmonizes the commodity
code listing of the Customs Tariff of Ukraine with the Harmonized Commodity
Description and Coding System of 2007, and fulfills tariff commitments of
Ukraine upon its accession to the WTO, as stated in the Protocol of Accession
of Ukraine to the WTO.
By the subject of legal regulation, the bill refers to the sphere of customs law and taxes, which is regulated by the Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 on the tariff and statistical nomenclature and on the Common Customs Tariff.
The Committee members stated that provisions of the Law complied with the EU law and Ukraine´s commitments in the WTO framework.
The Committee also scrutinized the bill on amendments to the Law "On the Procedure of Payments Settlement in Foreign Currency" (re Terms of Passing Foreign Currency Revenue) (Reg. No. 7214) that extends the term of passing the foreign currency revenue of the residents of Ukraine by the export-import operations from 180 to 360 consecutive days.
In the European Union, the subject of the bill is regulated by the Council Decision 94/800/EC concerning the conclusion on behalf of the European Community, as regards matters within its competence, of the agreements reached in the Uruguay Round multilateral negotiation.
The Committee members stated that provisions of the Law complied with the EU law and Ukraine´s commitments in the WTO framework.
