The Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities supports the Bill on Amendments to Clause 24 of the Law "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity" (re Submission and Registration of Applications for Assignment of Pensions)

The bill (Reg. No. 6675) supplements
Clause 24 of the Law "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity" with a
new part, regulating submission and registration of applications for assignment
(re-calculation) of pensions to the scientific workers. The procedure shall be
fixed by the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine by consent of a specially
authorized public authority body.
The Committee members stated that application
for assignment of pension to the scientific workers was being regulated by the
Law "On Compulsory State Retirement Insurance."
However, assignment of pension to the scientific
workers is specific, which calls for a special process of application to be ratified
by a specially authorized public authority body in charge of education and
science.
