Volodymyr Lytvyn: The Bill on Access to the Public Information should be adopted to broaden the Access to the Public Information of Importance
On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, commented upon the scrutiny of the bill "On Access to the Public Information." He stressed that this issue required a sensible approach.
V.Lytvyn admitted that the Ombudsperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine failed to express its opinion about the bill. He stated that Nina Karpachova expressed several remarks concerning the bill, and addressed the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information with a request to pass its conclusion.
The Head of the Parliament requested to hold the meeting to finalize the bill. He believes that adoption of the bill will broaden access to the public information and implement the recommendations of the European institutions.
