Mykola Tomenko: Today´s Blocking of The Verkhovna Rada contributed neither to the Opposition´s Authority, nor to the Public Benefit
Commenting upon the today´s events in the Parliament, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declared: "Today, there was a chance to reach a compromise between the majority and the minority on the scrutiny of principal issues suggested by the opposition." "However, the work of the Parliament was blocked for different reasons", Mykola Tomenko stated.
M. Tomenko is convinced that if events develop this way in the Parliament, the BYuT faction will be forced out to ‘a radical, non-intellectual opposition´.
"I have always been convinced that during the session, one should fight with the bills and positions, not with blocking and disruption of sittings", the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament declared. He emphasised: "Today´s blocking of the Verkhovna Rada contributed neither to the opposition´s authority, nor to the public benefit."
