The subject of the Law "On State Register of Voters"is regulation of legal and organization principles of formation and compilation of the State Register of Voters of Ukraine.
The Law presupposes that a place of voting can be temporarily changed (for the period of elections or referendum), provided the voter has a valid reason for his incapability to vote at his polling station without the change of the address.
The Law also defines the term ‘a polling address´, esp. for a voter without a registered place of residence; a military servant; a voter who is serving a sentence; a voter who resides or is staying abroad.
Pursuant to the Law, a state register of voters is an automatic information telecommunication system for the storage and processing of data formed to support the state register of citizens of Ukraine that have the voting rights.
