On September 18-19, 2010, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, takes part in the Presentation of the Regional Nominates of the Action "7 Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses and Palaces" in Lviv and Ternopil Regions
During the press tour, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, initiator of the action "7 Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses and Palaces" will visit castles in Zolochiv, Pidhirtsi and Olesko (towns and villages in Lviv region) and also Vyshnevetski Palace Complex and Castle in Zbarazh town (Ternopil region).
The action "7 Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses and Palaces" started in March 2010. Its aim is compilation of the map of castles and fortresses of Ukraine and analysis of the modern state of monuments, strengthening of their cultural and historical significance and their involvement into the hotel and tourism infrastructure.
In the result of the action, the finalists will be selected: 7 wonderful fortresses and palaces of Ukraine and 7 fortresses and palaces in danger of destruction and disappearance.
The action includes several stages. Currently, 137 objects take part in the action "7 Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses and Palaces." Khmelnytsk, Rivne, Volyn, Chernihiv regions and Kyiv city have already presented their nominees.
