Today Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, gave an interview to the First National Channel. He announced that he supported the public initiative regarding observance of the Car Free Day in Ukraine. Together with People´s Deputy Evhen Suslov he went to work by underground.
Asked why he has not ridden a bicycle, M. Tomenko answered that "it is rather a long distance from Obolon district to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and there are no conduction to use a bicycle." However, speaking on the problem with cycle pathes and parking places, M. Tomenko called for assisting these initiatives, so that public organizations urged the local self-government to provide the normal conditions for roads reconstruction with the bicycle infrastructure.
