The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Regulation and Management of Emissions, and Green Gases Absorption

The bill (Reg. No.4750) sets legal,
economic and organizational principles of prevention and alleviation of
consequences of the climate changes; establishes a national system of assessment
of and control over emissions and green gases absorption; introduces economic
tools for reducing the green gases emissions, and promoting investments to
enhance environmental efficiency of economy; supports transition of Ukraine to
the use of innovative technologies by implementation of the environmental
instruments of the Kyoto Protocol.
The Committee believes that adoption of the
bill will create an integrated system of reduction of green gases emissions,
facilitate implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, improve the investment climate
and introduce the use of environmentally-friendly technologies.
