The bill (Reg. No. 6545) was drafted
to protect the interests of bank depositors and creditors, strengthening the responsibility
of bank leaders for the results of bank activity, offering effective tools of
risk management and harmonizing the banking legislation with the Law "On
Joint-Stock Companies."
The bill extends the authorities of the board in bank governance, and increases its importance. The Committee members believe that adoption of the bill will facilitate harmonization of Ukrainian banking legislation with the European Union laws.
