Organizing the Parliament's Work, the People's Deputies of Ukraine should be guided only by Law, - V.Lytvyn.
Asked by the journalists on Friday, V. Lytvyn declared that the latest events in the Parliament are "the consequences of the struggle between Yulia Tymoshenko, the BYuT leader, with Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine." "Actually, it is the continuation of the presidential campaign within the working system of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", he stated.
The Head of the Parliament expressed the opinion that the demands of the BYuT-Batkivshchyna Faction were groundless. V. Lytvyn reminded that memorandum with the IMF envisaging increase of tariffs on public utility services on 50% was signed by Yu. Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, President V. Yushchenko and leaders of the National Bank and Ministry of Finances. "Why has the Law on moratorium not been introduced then?"
The Head of Parliament also emphasised that at the present moment there were no drafts on the raising the retirement age in Ukraine.
Asked whether all the possible variants for the compromises have been used, V. Lytvyn declared: "To find the compromise now is impossible, for the source of the conflict is not in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine."
Thus, the Head of the Parliament is convinced that " it is the time exclusively for the Law." He deems necessary to adopt the resolution on ensuring the order during the session. The resolution should consist of two items: "Taking into the consideration the cynical denial of the activity organization of the supreme public will representing body, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Department for State Security of Ukraine shall be charged with the protection of the activity of the Parliament, lest the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is blocked or obstructed; the General Prosecutor Office shall investigate and document everything organized in the session hall, responding correspondingly. "
"I am a type of person who is always ready for compromises, to listen to everyone and suggest solutions from the complicated situations. However, the present situation is beyond the common sense", the Head of the Parliament explained.
"Finally, the Law shall be executed", he emphasised. Otherwise, according to V. Lytvyn, "the regional councils will be blocked, following by the hospitals and other establishments."
