Ukrainian and Russian aircraft producers should compete in common in the European and global markets to achieve results. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement at the opening of the 7th International Aviation and Space Salon "AVIASVIT-XXI" in the village of Hostomel on Thursday.

"We have remarkable pilot projects and prospective developments to reach cumulative results," V.Lytvyn stated. Considering the necessity of serial aircraft production and revival of civil aviation, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should regulate competitive bidding. The Head of the Parliament reminded that aircraft producers participated in competitive bidding "on a common basis." "Safety and quality of complex technologies are concerned, so equipment should be purchased in the producers, without mediation," he stressed.

He refuted the allegation that Ukrainian aircrafts are unreliable, stating that he would go on his mission that day on a Ukrainian plane.

This year, the traditional International Aviation and Space Salon had the widest representation: 280 companies from 32 countries.

V.Lytvyn visited the exhibition and the airfield, watching the best pilots demonstrate the aircrafts at work in the air.
