Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Economic Reforms implemented by the Executive Authorities shall be supported by the Parliament

He made this statement in the interview to "Holos Ukrainy" newspaper, presenting the following statistics: as of the end of August, 1315 bills were registered in the Parliament, 400 ready for the first and the second readings, the rest being adjusted. "Unfortunately, the legislative initiative of the People´s Deputies prevails. The legislators submitted 1200 bills out of 1315," V.Lytvyn stated. He believes that objective conditions account for this fact, as "the government had no possibility to place the work in this direction on a broad footing." "However, the number of documents submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers did grow. 104 bills were brought forward," the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stated.

He also informed about several important bills submitted by the President. "These bills are of top priority, as they organize the work of the executive authorities and support the economic reforms," V.Lytvyn stated.
