The resolution envisages state celebration of jubilee of P.R.Popovych, first Ukrainian cosmonaut, two-time Hero of the Soviet Union, laureate of Yaroslav the Wise Order of IV degree, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR of 6-11 convocations, honorary citizen of four cities of Ukraine, first president of Slavutych Russian Society of Ukrainian Culture, who will celebrate 80th anniversary on 5 October 2010.
It is recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers sets up an organization committee to prepare and hold corresponding events, develops and ratifies an action plan, secures its financial, and material and technical provision, provides for the organization of thematic exhibitions in the museums of aviation and space exploration of Ukraine dedicated to the life and activity of P.R.Popovych, first Ukrainian cosmonaut.
It is recommended that the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting organizes shooting of the film and a series of thematic television and radio programs dedicated to the life and activity of P.R.Popovych, providing mass media coverage of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary.
The resolution envisages manufacture and introduction of commemorative coins and postage stamps dedicated to the first Ukrainian cosmonaut.
The resolution envisages renewal of exhibitions in P.Popovych Space Exploration Museum in the town of Uzyn of Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv region.
