The complexity of the war in cyberspace is that there is no visible, clearly defined line of contact. russia has been constantly conducting hacker attacks on Ukrainian resources since 2014. Currently, our specialists are effectively repelling all attacks, of course, I can only speak for the state segment.
This was stated by Oleksandr Fediienko, the MP, member of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.
“Over the past 3-4 years, Ukraine has made significant progress in the field of cyber defence, as evidenced by all international cybersecurity rankings. Ukraine is among the top ten countries that protect state registries and state digital infrastructure as successfully and effectively as possible. Now, in my opinion, everything related to critical infrastructure and state information resources is sufficiently protected,” the MP said.
According to him, counteraction in cyberspace is a real race, in which some are constantly developing new attack mechanisms, while others are learning to counteract and defend themselves.
And this requires specialists who will improve themselves every day.
“I hope that the parliament will soon consider draft law No. 8087 in the second reading. It concerns the development of the entire chain of maximum cyber protection of state information resources and critical information infrastructure.
The adoption of this document will introduce the position of a cybersecurity specialist in every government agency, including critical infrastructure facilities. A cyber incident exchange platform for response teams from various government agencies, mechanisms for researching supply chains for government agencies and critical infrastructure facilities will be launched, as our international partners have been saying all along," the MP said.
