The International Olympic Committee does not allow athletes who support the war to compete, but the IOC has not yet announced clear criteria for such support. Ukraine will cooperate with the IOC to develop these criteria and to monitor their compliance.

This was stated by Zhan Beleniuk, the MP, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports.

“The developed criteria must meet the interests of Ukraine. Those people who supported or are supporting the war, who were identified as participants in propaganda activities, for example, standing next to putin and glorifying the russian authorities and their leader, should not be able to participate in international competitions. In particular, I have information that some russian wrestlers have already been blocked,” the politician noted.

“Representatives of our national federations are now actively engaged in this. Definitely, those athletes who participated in propaganda events cannot be called neutral. They should be blocked from participating in international tournaments,” the MP concluded.
