The Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU Supports the Bill on Ratification of the Contribution Agreement between Ukraine and the EBRD on Ukraine's Participation in the Eastern European Partnership for Energy Efficiency and Environment Fund (No. 0120).

Ratification of the agreement will help Ukraine implement energy efficiency projects in the areas of district heating, environmental protection, waste management and the use of renewable and alternative energy sources. The Committee decided to support the bill and recommend to the Main Committee to submit it to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for adoption as a basis and as a whole.

Adoption of the Law will allow ratifying the Contribution Agreement, which will give Ukraine the right to remain a full member of the E5P Fund and have the right to vote in decisions on the activities of the E5P Fund.

Participation in the E5P Fund will allow using its funds to prepare and co-finance energy efficiency projects aimed at improving the efficiency of fuel and energy resources and improving the environment, which should result in significant reductions in electricity consumption, reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases in Ukraine.
