Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, sent a letter of appeal to the President of Ukraine, the Prime-Minister and the leaders of parliamentary Deputy Factions concerning joint elaboration of the Action Plan "Ukraine-2008"
The said document should be regarded as top priority till the end of 2008, and its implementation will become obligatory for all branches of power within the scope of their Constitutional authorities.
Inter alia, the letter of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine states: "Political confrontation at the highest levels of authority has exceeded the limits of sound competition and provokes more and more anxiety, since it bears adverse impact not only on political, but also on economic and social situation in the country". It can result in deregulation of public management. In his appeal, Arseniy Yatseniuk calls on all the branches of authority for elaborating the Action Plan "Ukraine-2008".
According to Arseniy Yatseniuk, the Plan should include the following issues: economic reforms, and reforming of judicial system and sector of law enforcement bodies. The said document should include a clear-cut plan of events aimed at securing of due preparation and holding of the European Football Championship in Year 2012.
"I am deeply convinced that all responsible politicians can overcome divergences and personal misunderstandings for the sake of common goal that will unite everybody for realization of the Action Plan "Ukraine-2008". Then our country will get out of an embarrassing situation and will take a significant step into the future," stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
