On Friday, on the eve of The Day of Knowledge, The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olexandr Moroz met with the teaching staff of the Secondary School No. 75 (Kyiv).
In his address O.Moroz stated that system of educational legislation has considerably improved for the last 10 years. According to his words, the Government and the Parliament are actively taking measures to improve the situation in the sphere of education. Inter alia, expenditures for education have grown from 14 to 42 billion Hryvnias for the last two and a half years. The Draft Budget for the next year envisages 30-per-cent growth of teachers´ wages in the next year.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also called for revision of the scheme of teachers´ pension provision, stating that pension rate should constitute not less than 80 per cent of official wage. According to his words, material and technical basis needs improvement as well.
