Opening the Morning Plenary Meeting of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday 13 December, A. Yatseniuk apologized for the conduct of the Deputy Factions responsible for the blocking of Parliamentary proceedings. 'Unfortunately, I accept that this is now my purpose and mission to apologise for those who, within the four walls of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, do not conduct themselves in a manner fitting or suitable to their position.
'This is not The Verkhovna Rada we would like to see, nor The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine our Ukrainian society would be pleased to see,' stressed the Parliamentary Chairman calling on MPs to preserve within the hallowed chambers of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 'the good which we once had here'. 'Also here there is no place for the bad ', added A. Yatseniuk.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine then notified the People's Deputies of the Meetings of the Conciliatory Council which had been on-going during the two previous days. As a result of these Meetings, two Draft Resolutions of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were prepared in Parliament. The first Draft document deals with the assigning of the posts of Chairmen, First Vice-Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen and Secretaries in the Committees of The Verkhovna Rada of the 6th Convocation; whereas the second one includes amendments to the Resolution of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 'On the List, Membership and Terms of Reference of the Committees of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation'. The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on the MPs to second the decision on including the said matters on the Agenda, agreed by the Conciliatory Council.
The motion on the inclusion of said matters on the Agenda of the Plenary Meeting on 13 December 2007 was then put to vote and seconded.
