We are once again convening the NATO-Ukraine Council, because our partners need to be encouraged to transfer air defence and missile defence systems to us. russia is destroying our energy infrastructure, and this is not because we missed the attacks, but because of a banal lack of missiles for air defence systems.

This was stated by Yehor Chernev, the MP, Deputy Chairman of the relevant Committee, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA.

“Our partners are well aware of what we need, but every time we emphasise the need for specific assistance, we raise this issue to the highest level. This is how we appear in the Western media, and it creates a kind of pressure on the part of society on governments to increase aid to Ukraine. We insist that our partners provide us with more Patriot systems, as there are 100 of them in Europe alone. I think we can find seven such systems for Ukraine,” the politician said.

He stressed that it is not just about protecting Ukraine, but about the security architecture in Europe in general.

“If it is declared that we live by the rules enshrined in the UN Charter, where states have no right to revise borders by force, if we say that we live by the Hague, Geneva Conventions, Helsinki Accords, which prohibit the revision of borders, then let's defend these principles. Otherwise, the civilised world will sign its weakness,” the MP stressed.

He added that all of Ukraine’s partners have lists of weapons that we need.

“It is not only about what we need today or tomorrow, but also about what we plan and will need, taking into account the intensity of the fighting, what is being repaired, the number of weapons, shells, ammunition, etc. Our partners have all the necessary information. The question is what they can provide and what they want to provide us with,” the parliamentarian concluded.
