The Deputy Chairman of the Committee Vasyl Mokan and Chairman of the Subcommittee on State Youth Policy Iryna Borzova met with the Head of the UNICEF Representative Office in Ukraine Munir Mammadzade.

The participants of the meeting discussed the importance of youth support, employment, and youth participation in the country’s recovery. They also discussed further steps to strengthen cooperation between state institutions and donor organisations in implementing youth policy in Ukraine.

Particular attention was paid to the work of the Ukrainian Youth Foundation. A cooperation and project implementation agreement was signed: “Career Start. Youth Guarantee Programme” was signed.

The project was developed by the Ukrainian Youth Foundation in partnership with UNICEF, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to implement the tasks of restoring youth policy programmes in accordance with the defined priority areas of the USF, and is fully consistent with the USF strategy.

The goal is to support young people in realising their socio-economic potential and increasing their economic independence through the creation of new or additional jobs.

The goal is to provide first employment for young people who are graduates of vocational schools in accordance with their speciality and are unemployed, based on the principle “money follows the young person”.

Members of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked UNICEF for supporting children, Ukrainian families and youth in Ukraine.
