Olha Saladukha, the Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Chairperson of the Subcommittee on High Performance Sports and Sports Activities, together with representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, athletes and show business stars, took part in an important symbolic event – the countdown to the start of the 2024 Olympics in Paris was launched at the initiative of the NOC.
“This is a milestone event because there is not much time and we need to use it as efficiently as possible. Ukrainian athletes have already won 67 Olympic licences and the competition is still ongoing. I am convinced that athletics, as the queen of sports, will become the leading discipline at the upcoming Olympics in terms of the number of achievements,” says Olha Saladukha.
The Ukrainian MP wished all the athletes perseverance, endurance, strength and balance to pass all the tests, overcome all the obstacles and win.
“Every victory is important to us. It is not only personal achievement, but also the prestige of the country. Also, every time the Ukrainian flag is raised and the national anthem is played, we draw the world's attention to the tragic events taking place in our country. This way, we have more opportunities to attract help and defeat the enemy,” Olha Saladukha summed up.
