The Vice Chancellor of Germany, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck, representatives of the German Embassy in Ukraine and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities took part in the official opening of a hybrid solar power plant on the roof of the Irpin Lyceum No. 1.

The 25.6 kW solar power plant with a 40 kWh energy storage unit was installed by the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation team as part of the Solar Supports Ukraine initiative, which is supported by the European solar association SolarPower Europe and the German Solar Industry Association (BSW).

The German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck assured that German companies are ready to immediately join the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which was destroyed by russian attacks.

According to Andrii Gerus, the Chairman of the Committee, the attention of European officials and politicians to small-scale generation facilities in Ukraine underlines the correctness of the path chosen by Ukraine.

“Solar power plants at schools, hospitals and other social infrastructure facilities should appear in every Ukrainian community. The development of distributed generation, including energy storage facilities, will definitely improve the resilience of our energy system. This is the energy of the future, and it is already helping us to survive the difficult conditions created by the russian aggressor. I thank the team for implementing the project,” said Andrii Gerus, the Chairman of the Committee.
