On 3 April 2024, the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation held a meeting to consider draft laws aimed at bringing Ukraine's legal framework in line with national interests and countering russian armed aggression by political and diplomatic means.

The Committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approve:

- Draft Resolution on the Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the states of the world, the United Nations, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other international organisations and their inter-parliamentary assemblies on the need to decolonise russia and support the national liberation struggle of enslaved peoples (No. 9671) submitted by MPs of Ukraine Oleksandr Merezhko and others. The text of the appeal proposes to recognise the russian federation as a colonial empire and the right of colonial peoples to self-determination;

- Draft Law on Termination of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the republic of belarus on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments (No. 0238), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Due to the support of the republic of belarus for the armed aggression of the russian federation, the termination of the Agreement will bring the legal framework in relations with belarus in line with the current realities of international relations.

- On the Draft Law on Withdrawal from the Agreement on Principles of Formation of a Common Transport Space and Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Field of Transport Policy (No. 0248), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The withdrawal from the Agreement is due to the need to bring Ukraine's legal framework in line with the real state of cooperation within the CIS.

The meeting also discussed issues related to the organisation of work and future events in the Committee.
