The second Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit, which took place in the capital of Albania, is an important format that brings our country and its partners closer to joining the European Union. Also, thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, we are expanding our circle of allies and strengthening our country's position in the world.

This was stated by the MP, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Arsenii Pushkarenko.

“The Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit debunked the myth that the Balkan states do not support Ukraine. The declaration signed by the participants of the event clearly shows support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula and unequivocal support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the return to the 1991 borders, the return of all our prisoners of war, the continuation of the sanctions policy against russia, etc. This is an important format of interaction,” the MP said.

He also drew attention to the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama.

“I believe that this document will also strengthen the support of our country by the Balkan countries and generally strengthen Ukraine's position in the world. It is appropriate to recall here that russia has traditionally and historically had a certain influence on the countries of the Balkan region, but now the situation is changing,” the MP said.
