russia is attracting very large resources to wage information warfare and is trying to influence both the situation in Ukraine and the world. The aggressor country will try to take advantage of the elections in the United States and Europe, but the kremlin's plans are known to Western intelligence agencies.

This was stated by Yevheniia Kravchuk, the MP, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, member of the Permanent Delegation to PACE.

“russia wants to influence the situation in Ukraine and is targeting the Ukrainian audience. The messages are clear, and the political leadership of our country is under the greatest attack. Fake news and disinformation campaigns are particularly active against the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The goal is clear – to undermine the unity of society, to demoralise both the army and the home front,” the MP said.

She also stressed that russia will try to influence the elections scheduled for this year in the United States and Europe, in particular to the European Parliament.

According to her, the intelligence services of Western countries are aware of all these plans of the aggressor country. In addition, Western journalists write about it.

“It is clear that russia will allocate a lot of money for the information war. moscow has allocated $1.5 billion for the operation against the Ukrainian president and against unity in Ukrainian society alone. For them, this is cheaper than waging a full-fledged conventional war. So, the more exposing articles about the kremlin's attacks, the better,” the politician concluded.
