At a meeting on 19 February 2024, the Committee on Economic Development, in order to optimise the time and increase the efficiency of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's consideration in the second reading of the draft law on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on improving the corporate governance of legal entities in which the state is a shareholder (founder, participant) (reg. No. 5593-d), re-considered all the submitted and not withdrawn proposals of the subjects of the right of legislative initiative to the draft law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 15 July 2021 in the first reading.
It should be recalled that the adoption of this draft law will allow us to introduce all the necessary tools to establish transparent and effective management of state-owned companies and is one of the key conditions for continuing to receive financial support from our international partners, in particular the European Union and the International Monetary Fund. The draft law was prepared in close coordination with international investors and other experts to ensure maximum compliance with generally accepted international standards.
The members of the Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt the said European integration draft Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving Corporate Governance of Legal Entities in Which the State Is a Shareholder (Founder, Participant)" (Reg. No. 5593-d) in the second reading and as a whole as a law.
