The Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haidu took part in the opening of the 35th international trade fair for organic food products “BioFach” in the exhibition centre in Nuremberg (Germany).

BIOFACH is the world's leading trade fair for organic food. This year, the largest organic trade fair in Europe features 2,550 producers from 94 countries.

The Chairman of the Committee Oleksandr Haidu together with international partners, relevant business associations and producers of Ukrainian organic products took part in the official opening of the National Pavilion of Ukraine.

Ukraine is represented by two National Pavilions and a collective stand. Another 3 companies are presenting their products at separate expositions.

In total, 38 Ukrainian companies will present organic products, including cereals, cereals, flour, vegetables, fruits, berries (dried, freeze-dried, frozen), melons, pulses, mushrooms, nuts, honey, oil, chocolate, juices, instant drinks without caffeine and sugar, berry pastes, baby food and snacks.

At BIOFACH 2024, for the first time, so many companies are revealing the opportunities of the organic sector in Ukraine. Businesses understand the prospects for the development of this area and are looking for ways to enter the global organic markets.

For the first time at BIOFACH, the state logo for organic products was presented at the National Pavilion of Ukraine and the products labelled with it.

This event will help improve the image of Ukraine and provide the international community with up-to-date information on the current state of the organic sector in Ukraine.

During the opening of the exhibition, Oleksandr Gaidu, the Chairman of the Committee, had the opportunity to talk to Cem Özdemir, the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Also, Oleksandr Haidu met with Ophelia Nick, the Member of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the meeting, they discussed the issues of strengthening the presence of representatives of organic Ukrainian exporters and increasing the supply of organic products from Ukraine to the EU market, as well as the importance of Ukraine as a country that ensures food security in the world. They also discussed the process of Ukraine's integration into the European Union.
