The Chairperson of the Budget Committee met with the Deputy Head of the Mission Sanna Nadim and the IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan.
The IMF mission in Kyiv is preparing for the next review of the programme with Ukraine, assessing the economic situation and the results of the implementation of the structural benchmarks which Ukraine has committed to fulfil by the end of February 2024.
“I am pleased that in this four-year programme, the Budget Committee, with the support and active participation of the entire Parliament, has successfully implemented five IMF structural benchmarks related to fiscal policy and the state budget.
This week, however, the discussion is not about the beacons but about the risks for the economy and the budget:
- the growing financing of the military campaign, and
- attracting international assistance.
The need for international financing is USD 37 billion. The additional need for the purchase and repair of military equipment is more than UAH 400 billion,” said Pidlasa.
