Ukrainian agrarians continue to work to ensure the food security of the state and the whole world, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy informs.

As of January 25, agrarians threshed 3.65 million hectares of corn (90% of the forecast), the harvest amounted to 28.48 million tons.

During the week, 50 thousand tons of corn were harvested. Farmers in 13 regions have already finished harvesting the grain (Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions).

Almost all of the corn has been threshed in Volyn (98%), Cherkasy (98%), Lviv (97%), Zhytomyr (96%), and Poltava (92%).

At the same time, significant areas of corn have not yet been threshed in the frontline regions.

The average corn yield in Ukraine is 7.79 t/ha. The highest yields were recorded in Ternopil region – 10.6 t/ha, Khmelnytsky region – 10.4 t/ha, and Lviv region – 10.1 t/ha.

At the same time, in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, corn yields are below 3 t/ha.

The leading regions in terms of corn harvest: Poltava region - 3.8 mln tonnes, Cherkasy region – 3.07 mln tonnes, Chernihiv region – 2.83 mln tonnes, Vinnytsia region – 2.69 mln tonnes, Kyiv region – 2.24 mln tonnes.
