The Chairman of the Committee Andrii Gerus and members of the Committee Ivan Yunakov and Serhii Nahorniak met with the member companies of the European Business Association (EBA) to discuss topical issues in the energy sector and to review certain provisions of the laws adopted by the Committee recently.

The Chairman of the Committee spoke about the state of Ukraine's energy system and the measures taken by the energy sector to ensure its stable operation in the face of a shortage of generating capacity in certain periods.

At the meeting, business representatives raised the issue of the need to amend the Law on Energy Efficiency, in particular, to use the EU energy consumption database in Ukraine.

The parties noted the need to develop and implement state programs to support energy efficiency.

Representatives of the EBA Energy Committee provided proposals that, according to their calculations, would help solve the problems with debts that have arisen in the electricity market.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue a constructive dialogue and work together on energy initiatives that would improve the business environment in Ukraine.
