Discussed at the Round Table was the Bill 'On Amendments to Several Legislative Acts of Ukraine to bring them in Line with the Law of Ukraine 'On the Principles of the State Regulatory Policy in the Business Area' (Reg. No.0944).

 

The purpose of this event was to discuss the Bill before its introduction for consideration by the Committee. Topics discussed included the adjustment of Legislative acts, extension of Rights of Non-governmental institutions, related to the defence of Human Rights, and creation of a more transparent structure of power to facilitate an easier path in power/business relations.

 

Natalia Korolevska, Committee Chairman, said that the Committee has already elaborated on a number of alterations and amendments to several Legislative Acts, to bring them in line with the Law of Ukraine 'On Principles of State Regulatory Policy in the Business Area'. She emphasized that all those present at the Round Table, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and The Cabinet of Ministers, advocated the development of power/business relations.

 

The Head of the Civic Orgnanisation, 'The Dnipropetrovsk Coordination and Centre of Expertise for Regulatory Policy Matters', O. Litvinov, said that the first stage of the regulatory reform had started back in 2005. Beginning in the second half of 2005 and up until today, 3,800 new regulatory acts have been prepared.

 

Those present suggested that adoption of any legal enactments should be banned unless by agreement with the relevant civic organisations and businesses.

 

Ksenia Liapina, Committee Vice Chairman, suggested that Heads of Regional/District State Administrations should be personally liable for supervising and implementing regulatory rules in their relevant locations.

 

According to N. Korolevska, this Bill will allow for a significant strengthening of the position of  Ukrainian business and prospects for its development, together with enhancing the attractiveness  of investment business in  Ukraine.
