To the Citizens of The Autonomous Republic of Crimea
It is with a feeling of deep respect that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every citizen of Crimea, on the occasion of The Day of The Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a wonderful and shining pearl in the precious string, an integral part of independent Ukraine.
The granting of the status of an Autonomous Republic was an important landmark in its history, providing a strong foundation for the development of this Region and its socio-economic advances.
The history of Crimea, evolved over centuries, has witnessed the life of many generations, their fate and achievements, the diversity and unity of cultures arriving at the Peninsula from West and East; contributing to the glorious and victorious, and the hard and tragic, pages of Ukraine´s annals.
However, throughout the ages, the people living in this multicultural region, continually aspired to preserve and strengthen the unity of their country, and the peace and concord of their society.
Today, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is a powerful economic complex, a sound partner of Inter-regional co-operation, a National Health Centre, a leader in scientific and educational thought, a wealth of National cultural pride and artistic achievements providing a stable life for those living in this unique land.
The contemporary inhabitants of the peninsula have preserved a great love for their native land, with a wish to sacrifice a part of one´s soul for the sake of its flourishing. Therefore, the fundamental transformations, which have reflected in various ways on the social life, have in no way impeded the preservation of your valuable achievements but have allowed them to multiply.
Therefore, I wish this respected Community even greater prospering, the wisdom of The State and common sense, good health, happiness, peace and harmony, and productive and satisfying work aimed at building a rich, democratic and independent Ukraine.
