People´s Deputies, at their meeting, listened to a presentation by Olha Bodnar, First Vice-Chairman of the Committee, on the Appeal from the Municipal Reforms Fund ‘Magdeburg Right´ and Civic Organisation, ‘I am a Kyivite´ concerning the calling of an early election of The Kyiv City Mayor and Kyiv City Council, and on the Appeals by citizens concerning violations of The Constitution and Laws of Ukraine by The Kyiv Authorities, collected during the campaign ‘For Kyivites´ Conscious Choice´ held in November-December 2007.
The Committee resolved to set up a Task Force, including People´s Deputies O. Bodnar, O.Chernomorov, S. Podhorny, V. Bondarenko ( by agreement), and V. Pylypyshyn, to study the circumstances described in the said Appeals.
Committee members also deliberated on the Appeal from the Coordination Council of The Public Campaign, ‘Kyiv Salvation Forum´, on the violation of current Legislation by The Kyiv City Mayor with regard to the sale of land parcels, and resolved to forward this letter, within the boundaries of the Law, to The Prosecutor General of Ukraine for an appropriate response, and commission the Committee Secretariat to prepare a reply to the initiator on the outcome of the Appeal Consideration.
People´s Deputies suggested that O. Omelchenko, Committee Chairman, should, at the next Conciliatory Council of Deputy Factions and Groups, initiate the speeding up of the consideration of Resolutions, ‘On Setting up a Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Violation of The Constitution of Ukraine and Ukrainian Laws, by Dobkin Mykhailo Markovych, Mayor of Kharkiv, and Kernes Hennadiy Adolphovych, Secretary of Kharviv City Council, whilst fulfilling their duties in the system of tariff, property, land, budgetary and financial relations´ (Reg. No. 1115) and ‘On Setting up a Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate the facts on violation of The Constitution and Laws of Ukraine, and taking unlawful decisions, by The Mayor of Kyiv, Chernovetsky L.M. and Officials in Local Governments and Executive Authorities in Kyiv´ (Reg. No.1137).
