Members of the Preparatory Deputy Group, set up to consider the Proposals for the Preparatory Process and the holding of the Ceremonial Meeting and Plenary Meetings of the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation, took this decision unanimously at their meeting on 15 November.
Those present at the meeting elected the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Preparatory Deputy Group. Raisa Bohatyriova, of the Party of Regions, was elected Chairman, Roman Zvarych ('Our Ukraine People's Self-Defence') Vice-Chairman and Ihor Sharov (Lytvyn Bloc) Secretary.
These decisions were ratified by the Delegates of all five political forces elected to The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation.
The Meeting also set up three Sub-groups, elected their Coordinators and approved their membership. Serhiy Sas of BYuT was elected Coordinator of the Sub-group in charge of the Ceremonial Meeting, the Opening of the Session and the appointment of the Interim Presidium, Returning Board and the organisation of duties, election of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine leaders and media coverage of the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation.
Mykola Azarov of the Party of Regions was elected Coordinator of the Sub-group responsible for the organisation of the Deputy Factions in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Coalition of Deputy Factions in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Agenda for the meeting of the First Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the list of Committees in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation together with their subject matter and principles underlying their formation.
Valentyn Matveiev of the CPU was elected Coordinator of the Sub-group responsible for the seating configuration for the People's Deputies of Ukraine in the Assembly Room, provision of appropriate facilities for the activities of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th Convocation and its bodies, administration of the Deputy's Authorities, the status of the People's Deputies', their accommodation and facilities required by them to carry out their duties.
The Sub-groups will convene on Friday 16 November.
The next Meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday 20 November.
