Tetiana Bakhteieva, The Committee Chairman, outlined the priority tasks which should be urgently addressed to amend the current state of the Public Health sector, improve healthcare of the nation, and strengthen the social protection of medical workers. She placed special emphasis on the legislative base required to introduce medical insurance in Ukraine. She called on the Committee Members to become actively involved in the Budget process, and to support the Constitutional Right of an individual to receive the appropriate medical provision.
The Committee Meeting approved the Committee´s structure and set up 4 Sub-committees to deal with legislative provision of The State Public Health Policy, development of pharmacy and pharmaceutical activities; legislative provision of medical services, medical treatment, medical education and science; development and strengthening of public health logistics and facilities; and medical insurance and monitoring the implementation of State Public Health programmes.
