A.Martyniuk, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made a working visit to Ternopil region on 20 July. During the visit he had meetings with the community of the region, held a press conference for the local mass media, and answered a number of questions at the local TV channel "Tv-4" in live broadcast.
Discussing the prospects of further social and political development of Ukrainian society, A.Martyniuk appraised the political situation in Ukraine. At the sane time, much attention was devoted to the history, language and culture of Ukraine, national identity, preservation of unity and integrity of independent Ukrainian State.
Dwelling on the issue of abolition of deputies´ immunity, A.Martyniuk stated that this matter requires considered and careful approach, taking into account international and European experience. He believes that issue of deputies´ immunity is usually exploited as pre-election technology. A.Martyniuk stated that political forces that exploit this issue with solely populism aim, immediately forget to abolish this immunity, once they are elected to the parliament.
At the meetings with the community of Ternopil region A.Martyniuk commented on the prospects of social and economical development of Ukraine and increase of wellbeing of Ternopil region dwellers in view of the Governmental programs regarding improvement of the level of people´s life.
A.Martyniuk, the Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will stay in Lviv region on 21 July, and the next day he will visit Volyn region.
