The People's Deputies,Ya. Sukhyi, O. Stoyan, V. Bohuslayev and V. Khara, have introduced a  relevant Bill 'On Amendments to several Laws of Ukraine concerning the provision of  State Benefits for the support of children until they are three  years old'  to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.  

The Bill (Reg. No. 1086) envisages provision, on a monthly basis, of Benefits towards support of a child until he/she is three years old, to a sum equal to 100 % of the living wage as established by the Law for children under six, provided the average monthly income of the family does not exceed four living wages per each able-bodied person.

The Bill also proposes to introduce provision, on a monthly basis, of  Benefit at a level of 50% of the living wage for  children under six,  in the event that  that the average monthly total income of the family exceeds four living wages for one able-bodied person.

 

The Adoption of this Bill, according to the Explanatory Note, will require additional funds from the State Budget, since a large number of families, with children under three, are actually deprived of social protection guaranteed by the current Law. The relevant funds will have to be allowed for in drafting the State Budget.
