The First Vice-Chairman of the The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine A. Martyniuk has completed his missions to Podillia

During his visit to the city of Khmelnytsky on 27 September, the First Vice-Chairman focused on communicating with the people by means of the local media he held a large Press Conference and took part in a live broadcast on local Radio and TV, together with two National TV Channels '33 Channel' and 'Contact', replying to the numerous questions put to him by the TV and Radio audience.

On 28 September, A. Martyniuk met with the community of Yampil and Tulchyn District in the Vinnytsia Region, joined in a live broadcast on Regional Radio and TV, and took part in the TV programme 'All Depends on you, People' Broadcast by the 'Vinnytchyna' TV and Radio Company.

Focus was placed on the issues of the current election campaign, and the resulting changes in the social and political situation in the country. For example, in A. Martyniuk's opinion, in the years since Ukraine's independence, we have failed to establish a State with clear-cut rules laid down for all. Throughout sixteen Governments in sixteen years, there has been no clear State concept, and disrespect of the Constitution by the highest Officials. He stressed that as a result, each newly-elected or appointed Power has only managed to remedy the deficiencies of the preceding one, having no clear-cut vision of its own.

Dwelling on the Declaration of the People's Will on 30 September this year, A. Martyniuk stressed its vital role, not only in overcoming the current political crises, but also choosing the direction of the country's development in future years "Yes, our current political system, along with the electoral system as its component, is imperfect and does not meet the actual needs of the people", he stated. "However, in spite of all our faults and failings, the opinion of each and every one of our citizens, on 30 September, define the fate of Ukraine: whether it will progress along the Democratic road, or lose its way in the quagmire of dictatorship, political nepotism and demagogy."

The First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on all political forces to provide a just and fair election, through which the citizens of Ukraine will take a well considered and wise step in favour of the State and its people.
