Present at the Meeting held on 13 November were Delegates from the Party of Regions, BYuT, .'Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defence' Bloc, CPU, and the Lytvyn Bloc.
The First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 5th Convocation Adam Martyniuk presided over the meeting.
The Deputies attending the Meeting discussed matters relating to the election of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary the Preparatory Deputy Group.
Valentyn Matveiev representing the Communist Party nominated Adam Martyniuk for the position of Chairman of the Preparatory Deputy Group.
Ruslan Kniazevcych of 'Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence' nominated Ihor Sharov (Lytvyn Bloc) for this position.
The outcome was that neither of the candidates obtained the necessary number of votes.
Following this, a member of 'Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence' once again nominated Ihor Sharov for the position of Chairman. I. Sharov however rejected this nomination.
Adam Martyniuk, of the Communist Party of Ukraine, turned down a proposal by a BYuT representative concerning his rejection of his nomination.
Further nominations for Leaders of the Preparatory Deputy Group were put forward at the meeting, but after discussion were all declined.
The next Meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group will be held on Wednesday l4 November.
