“A trilateral format of cooperation between Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine lays a solid groundwork for our European aspirations and security issues,” -- Andrian Candu, the Moldovan Parliament’s Speaker

At the beginning of his speech, the Speaker thanked for the opportunity to be in Kyiv today, three months after the maiden meeating of this format in Chisinau, where the first conference had taken place.

He reminded that in previous meetings, there were broad discussions about the reforms and the goals of the parliament of each country. “And we have seen a lot in common with these issues. We thus agreed to meet to work together," said Andrian Kandu, and emphasized that he would be glad to join this tripartite format, capable of laying sound foundations for our European aspirations and solving security issues.

The Chairman of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova stressed that the regional security cooperation needed internal transformations, and this could guarantee an open door to our European aspirations.

He also pointed out that democratic changes in our countries were restrained by certain factors. "We have much in common - we have frozen conflicts, different political forces, and the need to strengthen our economy".

"We are aware that building the follow-up joint cooperation does require a thorough consideration of ongoing European integration and a stable implementation of reforms," stated Andrian Candu in conclusion.
