The Second Inter-Parliamentary Conference “Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Strengthening the Inter-Parliamentary Component of Regional and Security Cooperation, While Developing Interaction with the EU and NATO” has started its work at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Ukrainian Parliament)

Opening the conference, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy emphasized that its key goal and the footing is understanding of the global threat of Putin's Russia for the entire civilized world, this is probably one of the mainest tasks of the international conference.

"Nowadays, the world is experiencing one of the most difficult periods since the Second World War, one of the greatest geopolitical challenges and major shocks, and Ukraine does feel it by virtue of the Russian aggression. But it is very important for us to understand that the Russian aggression against Ukraine is not just a conflict between the two countries, it is not just a Russian aggression against Ukraine. To my deep conviction, Putin has challenged the whole civilized world and in fact we are having his aggression in various manifestations - against Europe, against the North Atlantic Alliance, against the entire civilized world," he stated.

A.Parubiy then said that today the speakers of the three parliaments would declare and proclaim the creation of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
