Pre-SCHEDULE OF EVENTS


There will be held the said conference in Kyiv from June 8 till June 10.


Arrival of the delegates will take place on Friday, June 8.

A 30-minute registration procedure shall start at 08:00 am on Saturday, June 9, at the “Kyiv” hotel.

A flower-laying ceremony by heads of the delegations at the Holodomor victims’ Memorial shall be at 09:30- 09:45.


08:30-09:30 "Kyiv" hotel’s “The Crystal Hall”. There will be held a specialized panel discussion on the regional response to disinformation.

10:00 “Kyiv” hotel’s “The Triumphal Hall”. There shall take place an opening ceremony of the international conference, addresses of the Moldovan, Georgian and Ukrainian parliamentary speakers.

Moderator : Andrius Kubilius, a Lithuanian politician, member of the Lithuanian Seimas. The event shall span a ceremony of signing the launch declaration of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly “Ukraine-Moldova-Georgia”. The paper is to be signed by:

Andriy Parubiy, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament),

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia,

Andrian Candu, the Chairman of the Moldovan Parliament.

10:30-11:00 After the signing, there will be held a joint three-speaker briefing, accompanied with the conferees’ interviews.

At the end of the third panel, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy will deliver his final comments.


16:30 An informational guided tour for the conferees around the Parliament’s edifice is scheduled.

Worthy of note

 

On March 2, 2018 the Inter-parliamentary Conference "Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Eastern Partnership and Modern Security Challenges" was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, with the attendance of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Andrian Candu, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli  Kobakhidze, representatives of the parliamentary leaderships from Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, as well as the Atlantic Council, as a co-organizer of the event.

The conference discussed problems in counteracting to propaganda and misinformation, ensuring a stable economic growth within the region and the rule of law within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, as well as energy security issues and common security challenges.

At the conference, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy stressed in his speech that Ukraine is "a today’s shield of Europe that protects not only its own country, but also the whole free world".

A.Parubiy also initiated creation of a tripartite parliamentary assembly Ukraine-Moldova-Georgia by analogy with the Parliamentary Assembly Ukraine-Lithuania-Poland.
