Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov claims that as soon as the Central Election Commission announces preliminary election results, it is necessary to start forming the parliamentary majority.

The newly elected Parliament should immediately get down to concrete and responsible work, noted Oleksandr Turchynov in the interview to “Novoie Vriemia” magazine.

“In order to launch reforms, we need to have the parliamentary majority responsible to Ukraine, as well as a professional Cabinet of Ministers ready not only to launch (usually there are no problems with that) but also carry out reforms, which is more complicated,” he noted.

Thereat, Chairperson of the Parliament stressed that in connection with the situation in the country, particularly the military actions, “we have to immediately get to work.” Therefore, he is convinced that as soon as the Central Election Commission announces preliminary election results, it is necessary to start forming the parliamentary majority, and simultaneously negotiations should be conducted regarding the Government. “So as to get down to concrete and responsible work, instead of competing in eloquence on the first day of parliamentary work,” added Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
