The bill (Reg. No. 4997) suggests guarantying the right of persons to efficient protection against moral persecution at the workplace.

In particular, the bill suggests determining the notion of “moral persecution at the workplace” ant its main types; establish prohibition for moral persecution at the workplace; and ensure protection against moral persecution at the workplace in the course of conclusion of collective agreements and treaties, etc.

In view of the fact that legislative acts regulating fundamentals of prevention and counteraction to discrimination already exist in Ukraine, the referred bill is an integral part of Ukraine’s labour legislation, and Committee members deem it inexpedient to adopt a separate law on prevention and counteraction to moral persecution at a workplace, which is workplace discrimination.

The people’s deputies suggested enshrining provisions of the suggested bill either in the Labour Code of Ukraine, or in the draft labour Code of Ukraine that was referred for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading.
