The Ukrainian Parliament Chairperson A. Parubiy delivered a complimentary address to Ukraine’s peacemakers on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Peacekeepers

"I express my sincere gratitude to the Ukrainian peacekeepers for their highly professional military and law enforcement experience they have been sharing with the antiterrorist operations community, giving a demo of their deep knowledge, skills, and training in protecting civilians. I wish you all a robust health, professional growth, prosperity and a peaceful sky over our much-loved motherland,” A. Parubiy said.

Nowadays, the peacemakers struggle for peace in their own home, defending the State of Ukraine against the Russian terrorists.

He also stressed that all through the years of independence more than 42,000 Ukrainian soldiers participated in peacekeeping missions for over twenty countries. Today is the Day of Ukrainian peacekeepers. Over 500 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carry out the tasks in ten international peacekeeping and security operations in 8 countries.

The holiday was established by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on May 21, 2013. On this day in 1992 Ukraine started its peacekeeping activity. With the mission in Bosnia began participation of Ukrainian troops in peace-keeping and security operations under the auspices of the UN, OSCE, NATO and EU in "hot spots" all over the world.

“I am sending my sincere thanks to you for your noble work! Dear keepers of peace, I wish you and your families a sound health, wellbeing, and vital force. May the Lord help you! May the memory of the fallen peacekeepers-heroes live on forever!

Glory to Ukraine!
