Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Andrii Parubii signs Resolution on renaming 10 population centers, including Kirovohrad

On Thursday, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Resolution on renaming ten population centers within the framework of the decommunization. In particular, the Resolution renames the city of Kirovohrad as Kropyvnytskyi.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii said this at a briefing.

According to Andrii Parubii, Ukraine has almost completed the process having renamed 1,012 population centers and districts in Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the renaming of Kirovohrad is a remarkable event.

"I immediately sign the Resolution on renaming Kirovohrad as Kropyvnytskyi. The Resolution takes effect right after my signature," he told the press.
