The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada expressed deep concern over the intention of some deputies of the National Assembly of the French Republic to pay a visit to temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on July 23-24.
In turn Claude Bartolone characterized the unauthorized visit of the French parliamentarians as an "absolutely irresponsible" one and noted that the deputies wanted to pay such a visit "only on their personal initiative."
He added that France on the whole and the National Assembly in particular certainly condemn this visit and call it unacceptable. He noted that the National Assembly of the French Republic in no way supported such a decision.
