Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman advocates strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian Parliament and EBRD

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman advocates strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian Parliament and EBRD for ensuring quality legislative activity.

Participation of EBRD representatives in expert support of the bills which can be conducted in cooperation with specialized parliamentary committees, factions, and separate deputies, and which can increase quality of lawmaking was discussed on Thursday, during the meeting with Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Francis Malige.

Francis Malige claimed the EBRD is ready to provide Ukraine with expert assistance, particularly, in implementing reforms of banking, financial, and energy sectors.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that the abovementioned sectors belong to priority ones, and thanked for his proposal to exchange experience. In his words, cooperation with EBRD is particularly important for success of systematic reforms in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Groysman emphasized the need to coordinate cooperation of international financial institutions with the Verkhovna Rada, since "initiatives of reforms shall be transformed to legislative acts".

Volodymyr Groysman claimed collaboration with international partners has been initiated and such activity will make internal work of the Parliament more efficient and transparent.
